Dec. 8th - Favorite Scripture - Psalm 119:11
"Your word I have treasured in
my heart,
That I may not sin against You."
Our Scripture for today is Psalm 119:11. Are we treasuring His Word? You may have been asked before - if you're house was on fire, what "things" would you try to save? What are your treasures?
What's God's greatest treasure? God knew from the beginning this world would fall to sin and its destruction; in fact, the Bible says one day this earth will all be burned up.
2 Peter 3:10 - "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up."
And what did God decide was of such great value to Him that He decided He would rescue? ...YOU and me and all who will receive His gift of salvation (rescue). You are of that much value to God!
"For we are His workmanship (masterpiece), created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:10
I don't know where you are right now in life. This Christmas may be a very difficult season for you. You may feel lonely and forgotten...valued by no one. But I am here to tell you God says you ARE valued...by the Creator of the universe Himself!!!! Christmas is all about God coming to earth so that we could go home to Heaven with Him through His Son Jesus Christ - Immanuel - "God with us"! He is here. He is near. And to Him, you are dear!
